Pro-LGBT Social Spaces in Brisbane

The cafes and social spaces listed on this page are:

  • open to people of all ages
  • drug and alcohol free (or at least, not centred around alcohol)
  • safer spaces where same-sex attracted and gender diverse young people are welcome

We can’t make guarantees about these venues: We can just say that staff and/or volunteers and/or young people at Open Doors have heard good things.

In West End:

  • posto = 235 Boundary Street West End.  Walking away from the city on Boundary St, go through the intersection with Vulture St and keep walking until you have passed the coffee club and a flower store. It’s on the right.  Ph: 3844 1792
  • BLACKSTAR COFFEE = Thomas Street West End. Walking away from the city on Boundary St, turn right onto Vulture St, then take the first left onto Thomas St.  It’s on the left. http://www.blackstarcoffee.com.au/

In the City:

  • Bleeding Heart Cafe = 166 Ann Street Brisbane City. From Central Station, walk towards King George Square on Ann St. It’s on your right just after the Mincom building.
