LGBT Education Network

younginsAre there teachers and other school based personnel who want to join together with other school workers to talk about LGBT issues, homophobia and how these relate to working in schools?

Open Doors is a youth and family support service funded by the Federal Government. Open Doors works with gay, lesbian, bisexual and / or transgender young people and their families. We offer support and create and enhance awareness of lgbt issues.

Teachers and school environments are crucial to young people, and Open Doors recognise that lgbt issues can provide a challenge to some school communities.

Teachers and other school based workers can sometimes feel isolated from others who share similar goals to recognise and celebrate diversity within school communities.

The Open Doors Education Network provides an opportunity for teachers and other school based workers to join together in a safe and confidential way to share information and support. The network aims to identify common concerns, highlight issues and explore responses.

We meet approximately every 6 weeks. Please pass this invitation and information to your friend/partner/family network for the power of word of mouth!

If you would like to find out more information please contact Chris at Open Doors or email chris@opendoors.net.au.
