One on One Support

Seeing a Youth Worker

Open Doors Youth Service provides support to young people aged 12-24 years old who identify as LGBTIQAP+ Sistergirl or Brotherboy.  We currently have six Youth Workers working across all programs offered at the service and all young people at Open Doors Youth Service have an initial appointment called an intake which takes about half an hour. Our Youth Workers have lived experience;  they get what it is like to be a part of the LGBTIQAP+ community and are here to help.  During an intake, Youth Workers will let you know all that Open Doors can offer you and it’s also a great opportunity to find out what Open Doors can do to support you especially if you are:

  • Homeless or have unstable accommodation
  • Having problems at home
  • Having problems at school
  • Need help navigating your way through services including financial assistance, housing, employment, study and much more
  • Looking for a job or wanting to get some training
  • Struggling with your mental health
  • Need a safe and inclusive Doctor or Dentist (your physical health)
  • Need a safe and inclusive Sexual Health check up
  • Struggling with your thoughts
  • Wanting to make friends
  • Needing help making some tough decisions
  • Needing advice or someone to talk to about drug and alcohol use

Please contact Open Doors Youth Service on (07) 3257 7660 to arrange an ‘intake’ appointment with one of our friendly Youth Workers.  All supports and groups at Open Doors Youth Service are completely free of charge to everybody and the reason we do intake appointments is to make sure the groups are kept safe, inclusive and fun for everyone!
