LGBTQIAP+ Individual Support Services

We currently have several Youth Workers working across all programs offered at the service and all young people at Open Doors Youth Service have an initial appointment called an intake which takes about half an hour. Our Youth Workers have lived experience;  they get what it is like to be a part of the LGBTQIAP+ community and are here to help.

During an intake, Youth Workers will let you know all that Open Doors can offer you and it’s also a great opportunity to find out what Open Doors can do to support you especially if you are:

  • Experiencing homelessness or unstable accommodation
  • Having problems at home
  • Having problems at school
  • Need help navigating your way through services including financial assistance,
  • housing, employment, study and much more
  • Looking for a job or wanting to get some training
  • Struggling with your mental health
  • Need a safe and inclusive Doctor or Dentist (your physical health)
  • Need a safe and inclusive Sexual Health check up
  • Struggling with your thoughts
  • Wanting to make friends
  • Needing help making some tough decisions
  • Needing advice or someone to talk to about drug and alcohol use

Please complete our online referral form to arrange an ‘intake’ appointment with one of our friendly Youth Workers. All supports and groups at Open Doors Youth Service are completely free of charge to everybody and the reason we do intake appointments is to make sure the groups are kept safe, inclusive and fun for everyone!

We can receive referrals from service providers, parents/guardians/carers, and directly from young people themselves.
