SOCIAL GROUPS

ODYS holds weekly social groups for LGBTIQ+ SB young people to provide a safe space to make connections, build support networks and develop a sense of belonging. Our social groups include:

Trans and gender diverse young people aged 12 – 24 years

Queer and gender diverse young people aged 12 – 15 years

FEMME SOCIETY

Trans femme young people aged 12 – 24 years

Trans and gender diverse young people aged 16 – 24 years

If you’re new to ODYS and would like to attend one of our social groups, just fill out our easy online referral form and our amazing intake worker, Ezarco, will be in touch to get you started.

DROP IN

ODYS holds drop in for LGBTIQ+ SB young people aged from 12 – 24 years every Monday from 3.00pm – 5.00pm. Come grab some food, a hot shower, raid our community closet, connect with other LGBTIQ+ SB young people and our incredible youth workers! No need to register or complete a referral form to attend.

ONLINE

Have you found it hard to access our in-person groups? Do you want to connect with LGBTIQ+SB young people like you? Do you live somewhere regional, or are unable to get out and about?

Come hang out with us every second Tuesday on Zoom. Play some games, chat about life and meet some new friends all from the comfort of your own space! No need to make a referral just register below.

1:1 SUPPORT

Our lived experience youth workers are here to support you through life’s challenges. We offer support across the following areas:

  • Homelessness and/or unstable accommodation
  • Mental health support
  • Exploring gender and sexuality
  • Navigating relationships
  • Accessing LGBTIQ+ SB inclusive healthcare
  • Having problems at school
  • Having challenges at home
  • Help navigating your way through services, such as Centrelink, Housing and/or NDIS
  • Accessing gender affirming health care
  • Support around your drug and alcohol use
  • Sexual health information or accessing safe and inclusive sexual health check up
  • Finding LGBTIQ+ SB information, resources, and services

Please know this list is not inclusive and we are here to help with any challenge you may be facing. To access one on one support please complete an easy online referral form and our incredible intake worker Ezarco will be in touch to get you started.

COUNSELLING

Need someone to talk to who can help you navigate some of the tough times? Our affirming counselling service can be a great option. ODYS offers young people 12 free counselling sessions to support their mental health. To access counselling please complete an easy online referral form and our incredible intake worker Ezarco will be in touch to get you started.

PARENT & CARERS SUPPORT GROUP

At ODYS we know that this can be a difficult journey not only for young people but their parents and carers. We also know that a supportive family can improve outcomes for LGBTIQ+ SB young people significantly. Learn how you can support your young person in ways that are affirming in a safe and supportive space with our counsellor and lived experience youth worker.
