About Us
Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS) is Queensland’s leading service dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy young people aged 12 to 24 and their families.
For more than 25 years, ODYS has provided specialist support, advocacy, education, community connection and early intervention services that improve the health, wellbeing, safety and inclusion of LGBTQIASB+ young people.
Our vision is a world where all young people can live authentically and unapologetically, free from the fear of violence, discrimination, and isolation.
The Opportunity
We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join the ODYS Board and contribute to governance, strategic direction and long-term sustainability of our organisation.
As a Board Director, you will work alongside a dedicated group of leaders to oversee organisational performance, guide strategic priorities, support good governance, and ensure ODYS continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of LGBTQIASB+ young people.
What We’re Looking For
Previous board experience is welcome but not essential. We are equally interested in emerging leaders who are passionate about our mission and committed to good governance.
We believe our board should be a reflection of the young people we serve and we therefore strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and trans and gender diverse people.
We welcome applications from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
