Many of the services we provide do not receive any government funding and rely on donations and fundraising to continue.

All donations made to Open Doors go to help us deliver services and support to LGBTIQ young people.

You can let us know to which program or service you would like your donation to go.

Two of our programs that we would greatly appreciate donations for are Art Therapy and Jellybeans.

PRIDE Art Therapy
The PRIDE Art Therapy program launched in 2017 with Open Doors Youth Service is the first of its kind. The purpose of the project is to support LGBTIQAP+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy young people between the ages of 12-24 and their mental health and wellbeing, encouraging them to live healthy empowered lives through connecting them to community and culture through the use of artistic activities and exercises. The program encourages young people to express themselves in healthy, safe ways.

This ground-breaking program is run weekly over 10 Organisations around South East Queensland to over 70+ young people. In total the program has supported over 1600 young people over 12 months and has proven to be one of the most successful programs run at Open Doors Youth Service.  Unfortunately funding for this program has ceased (and the Mental Health Commission is unable to fund the same program twice) so we would love to keep it going.  If you’d like to give our LGBTIQAP+ Brotherboy and Sistergirl young people the valuable opportunity to improve mental health and wellbeing, ultimately assisting connection with their peers and community through our incredible Creative Arts Therapy Program, please consider a donation to continue this important work.  To help save this program please head to:

The Jellybeans program relies entirely on donations to help provide a program to young people specifically supporting gender diverse and transgender young people aged 12-24.  Open Doors Youth Service provides a social support group twice a month, a Youth Worker as well as many other supports such as Binders, clothing, books and much much more.  This is one of our most popular and successful programs and is so important.  There are very few safe social groups specifically for young people who are gender diverse and transgender and we really work hard to keep it a safe, inclusive and fun space.  Donations would significantly help to keep the group continuing, allow us to provide outings for the young people to help build confidence in the young people as well as continue to provide support in other ways as mentioned above.  To support this program, please head to:
